Following his fall on the pitch at Euro 2020, Christian Eriksen of Denmark will be equipped with a heart-starting device.
In his team’s defeat to Finland in Copenhagen on Saturday, the 29-year-old midfielder experienced cardiac arrest.

According to Danish team doctor Morten Boesen, the ICD (implantable cardioverter defibrillator) is “essential due to rhythm disturbances.”

Eriksen is still in the hospital, although he claims to be “well considering the circumstances.”
